South West Shape Note is the place to come to find out about shape note music in the south west of England (Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Dorset and Wiltshire).
At present, this website gives an outline of current activities, but as it develops it will cover more about the background to the music and will record the minutes of events in the region.
2022 Singings
As we pick up from the imposed Covid-19 lockdowns of 202 and 2021, and following Martin's untimely death in January 2022, we are using new venues for house singings in Exeter, continuing the tradition of Third Friday Singings from The Sacred Harp (Denson 1991). Plans are under discussion for Fifth Sunday Singings and the All-Day singing in June - watch this space for details as they become available.
For details please contact Steve.

Exeter Elysium Lodge Singing, Friday 15 April 2022
We had a wonderful start to our relaunched Third Friday House Singings in March!
On Good Friday, 15 April 2022, we will meet at the second of our new venues in Exeter, Nigel & Dana’s house, Elysium Lodge, at 7.30pm for a 7.45pm start, until 10.00pm.
Singing from The Sacred Harp (Denson, 1991). Loaner copies available.
A warm welcome awaits you, whether beginners, improvers, experienced singers or the inquisitive, to our friendly mixed experience group. We enjoy singing together, learning and sharing shape-note songs, and eating cake (as it’s Good Friday, hot cross buns are likely).
Elysium Lodge is readily accessible by car, with parking on site. Buses stop a few minutes’ walk away, and there is a railway station about 10 minutes’ walk away. Please contact me for the address and directions (available from Monday).
