We hold Saturday all-day singings each year here in Cullompton, in the friendly setting of, Cullompton Baptist Church. We sing from The Sacred Harp (Denson). We follow the traditional style of all-day singings, with singers registering, and opting to lead their song selections if they wish. We open and close with prayers, we keep minutes of the songs sung during the day, we pause to remember people known to us who have died in the past year and honour those who are sick and housebound. We have regular recesses for refreshments, a bring and share lunch, and pass the basket for cash contributions towards the costs of the day plus a donation to the church in recognition of their support in what we do.
2020 All-Day Singings:
- Saturday 6 June - CANCELLED
- Saturday 10 October
Cullompton Baptist Church is right in the centre of the town in the main market place and with the bus stops on the Exeter - Tiverton route just outside the door. Forge Way car park, off Station Road, is right behind the church. Tesco is a five minute walk, Aldi 10 minutes; Fore Street has Veysey's award-winning butchers, the Little Bakery award-winning bakers, a Co-Op and a Premier convenience store, all handy for foraging for contributions to the bring and share lunch. Directions to the Church here. In the evening all are invited to join us for a meal in a well-regarded local bistro and wine bar (they ask us to give them numbers in advance for this).
